Homeless

This is a man I saw sleeping on the corner of 15th and Utica. I have never approached a homeless person before, but I thought he had a great face and I really wanted an editorial portrait of him. I was surprised to find that he was a very nice guy, and extremely nonchalant about having his photo taken. In the end, I am very happy to have a new experience, and a couple great pictures to back it up.

Sometimes it's gotta move....

This is a portrait I took of Jessica, one of the first semester students. We had to try to photograph their personalities by just showing their faces, and this is what I came up with. I am usually weird about having too much blur and movement in a photo but I really like this one.

Goodbye Admiral Twin

This is the historic Admiral Twin, built in 1951. This is where I spent a lot of my childhood here, watching drive-in movies. I saw it burning down on the news, and when I rushed there this was all that was left.

Let The Bulbs Burn

I was out and about shooting for an assignment when I noticed how amazing the sky looked around the Cain's sign right after sunset. The sky made a natural vignette around the sign, and minimal Photoshop was needed for this image.

Ruby

This is one of the family shots I used for my portrait class. I am strangely obsessed with sun flare, and I always love the beautiful imperfections that it gives to my photography.

Yes I'm Awesome

This is Kelly Kerr with his game face on. Wimbledon has got nothing on the Kerr. Maybe I am not super awesome at sports action, but 100 degree weather didn't keep me from getting this winner of a photo.

Madre

This is a portrait I shot of Leah's mom and her mini yorkie. You can see the love she has for this dog, and I think that it I caught an adorable moment.

Composite

I will be the first to admit that composites are extremely difficult for me, but I really enjoyed how this one turned out. I love the models and the scene, and I actually surprised myself on the end result of this photo. I may do more in the future.

Zoo Time

My class enjoyed the zoo last week, and here are a few of my favorites.

Knitting Nikki

My assignment for photojournalism was to show an illustration as if it were to run with a story in the paper. I thought that knitting was a neat subject because it isnt just for older generations. I wanted to show something fashionable to make knitters look almost couture, and this is what I got.

Sun Kissed Flash

My assignment for my portrait class was to use a flash on an outdoor portrait. I had a great model that liked to smile and laugh, which I think was perfect for the warm sunset.

Ugly Is Hot

This is my fabric shot for Studio 2. I love my uglydolls, and also loved shooting this. I played pretend with blankets and sheets all the time as a child, and I thought the fabric faux fire would be a fun way to compliment my stuffed dolls.

Metallic

This is for my studio 2 metal shot. I wanted to do something simple and clean, and I am pleased with how artsy something so simple can be.

The Band

These were a few of the shots I took for Chelsea's promo photos for her band. Shot in Muskogee, Ok.

11th Street

These are two photos that have been edited to become HDR. I always overdue everything in PS, so I was trying to be a little more subtle with these. I brought my model Nikki out to 11th street to take some photos by these old signs, and these were my two favorites. Shot with my Nikon D40.

Wedding Bells

These are just a couple of images from the wedding I shot on Friday. It was a great experience, and I can't wait to get all of my images edited. More to come later :)

Beauty In Contrast

This is a studio shot for my Portrait class. Elizabeth has gorgeous eyes, and she was a great model. I decided to go out of the safe zone for fun and turn the image in B&W and crank up the brightness and contrast. This is the end result.

Tulsa Backwards

This was a portion of shots that I collected the other day when shooting architecture. Tulsa has some interesting views, and although these type of shots are not my forte, it was a great learning experience.

I Need A 3 Letter Word That Starts With N.....

This was by far my favorite photo of the day. This sweet nun sat at the Memorial Day celebration and did her crossword. I thought it was cute and very amusing.

Memorial Day Part 2

Memorial Day 2010

Today I had the opportunity to shoot two different Memorial Day celebrations in Tulsa and Sapulpa. I have never been to one of these celebrations before, and I am very happy I went. There were so many photojournalistic opportunities to indulge in.

Mouse Trap

This is my small product assignment for Studio II. I just started brainstorming close to midnight, and that's when all of my crazy ideas come out. Some of them don't always work out, but the ones that do work turn out really well. I am very happy with the end result.

Beauty In Black And White

I was practicing 6 different lighting techniques and this was my favorite from the bunch. This was shot with hard lighting. I love her eyes and I thought this photo showed them off well.

Rhett and Sarah

This was an engagement photo I took for a good friend. I was excited to play with the sun, it was a beautiful day, and they turned out to be great photographs.
